Fantastic First Impressions
From the moment you approach Sunflowerfest you know you are in for a life experience.
Take a lovely 1 km stroll from the bus stop along the country lane, over the farm fields to the festival site.
When you arrive at Tubby’s Farm your eyes will be massaged by the wonderful vista as you gaze over Sunflowerfest and beyond onto the beautiful drumlin countryside in the distance.
A warm welcome
Passing through the friendly and quirky security and ticketing booth you will enter the start of the village area around June’s Cottage. Here will be craft stalls, clothing and festival goodies stalls and a range of vendors selling a choice of fantastic tasty treats, snacks and hand held wholesome meals.
Orientation and setting up camp
Follow Raspberry Camp signposts and stroll through the tantalising aromas from the food stalls in the village, down the lane towards the singles camping area, passing by the campfire site and Sunflower stage on the way.
Families and more reserved festival goers will follow family camping signs past more festival stalls to their own designated camping area, turning left just before the farm shed.
The Village
On the lawn beside the wee cottage will be therapists and practitioners offering reflexology, meditation, Reiki, massage, crystal therapy and angel card readings as well as craft producers and artisans making and selling their wares.
Enjoy some delicious treats, snacks and drinks including Carrie’s cupcakes, frozen yoghurt, tea and coffee and plenty more while you browse.
For those wanting a more chilled out/healing area offering complimentary therapies and yoga and meditation classes, then meander down the hill to the right of the family camping area.
Of Faeries and Pixies
Meander down the hill through the woodland to the right of the family camping paddock and discover the tranquil lily pond in the secluded glade of mystery and surprises. Here you can expect the occasional explosion of light, sound, touch, taste and smell or even an art installation or improvised performance. Who knows you may find your sixth and seventh senses are awakened in this magical and mystical little world.
The Farm Shed
Wander back up the hill and visit the Farm Shed which will be a live music venue offering an intimate setting for more acoustic style acts. Later in the evening this will become Club Tub, the venue for the silent nightclub.
Sunflower Arena
Leave the Shed and head out into the main Sunflower arena and join in with the biggest gatherings of the weekend in front of the main stage. The main bar (Love & Death) is located here as well as food and hot beverage stalls.
ClubTub
If visitors want to continue partying after the main stage acts finish then they can try ClubTub in the shed. For a nominal deposit they can don the headphones and be entertained by Sunflowerfest djs and mcs. This will continue into the early morning, in silence!
Families
Throughout the site and for the duration of the weekend, there will be lots of activities and workshops for children and families. These will be centred inside and around the fenced off area facing the cottage. There will be clay modelling, paper mache, face painting, dance and music workshops, kids yoga, plenty of fun games, rock ‘n roll football, a huge sandpit, circus fun, bubbles, parachutes and more…
Interactive live art workshops, the Mad Hatter’s tea party, story telling, mask making, creative writing and nature discovery trails will be blended in to the whole festival to ensure that children and families may enjoy themselves to the maximum.
Sunflower Campfire
After a full day of festival activities, winding down and relaxing in the campfire stage around the campfire will be the ideal way to draw the day to a close. Hot and cold beverages and snacks from the tiffin vendor may be purchased and visitors may talk and sing or strum the guitar before retiring for the day. What could be more idyllic than slurping a mug of chai tea and spooning in a bowl of comfortable pudding while staring into the campfire? The perfect end to a perfect day!
Comedy & Poetry Tent
Did he really say that? Heckle, snigger, uproarious laughter, cringe……..oh yeah……now I get it. Gosh it’s nice to sit down and enjoy a bit of light relief.
You get the picture.
Enjoy poetry and the spoken word also. Maybe you fancy yourself as a poet. Now’s your chance.
You can find us (the poetry/comedy tent) behind the wee cottage…just follow the laughter!
